I think a key feature of cloud based apps is the ability to export data to simple formats like CSV. You can always move columns around and shift info back into other systems. Gears is an excellent candidate for SaaS apps to deal with this issue going forward. We have been giving it more attention in recent months. Thanks for the mention. The "cloud" make it really easy for collaboration but I'm yet to be sold on storing important company documents as the sole repository.
